Nha Trang welcomes around one million tourists
Nha Trang city of Khanh Hoa province has received nearly one million of tourists, a 29% increase as compared to the same period of last year.
The number of international tourists also sees an increase of 12%.
Travel agencies in the city have upgraded their facilities and opened more tours to attract more tourists.
The coastal city of Nha Trang is well known for its pristine beaches. Nha Trang Bay is amongst the world's most beautiful bays. Nha Trang was the site of the Miss Universe 2008 Pageant that was held on July 14, 2008.
Sacom resort construction started
The construction of Sacom resort on Tuyen Lam river, Da Lat Central Highlands province started on July 28.
The resort, invested with VND 2,250 billion, is built on an area of 60 hectares on an island in Tuyen Lam river.
The resort will include two luxury hotels with 550 rooms, 230 villas, an entertainment area, a shopping centre and a 18 hole golf course. This is also the first resort in the Tuyen Lam river area having golf course.
At present, 32 projects in the Tuyen Lam – Da Lat river tourist site have been licensed with a total capital of VND 5,500 billion. Ten projects of which have already started.
More ASEAN tourists come to Vietnam
The number of tourists from AEAN countries to Vietnam since the beginning of the year has increased 21%, totalling 473,000 out of 2.6 million of international guests to Vietnam.
Of which, the number of tourists from regional countries sees a sharp increase such as Singapore (27,5%), Thailand ( 41,6%), Malaysia (21,6% ) and the Philippines (55%).
According to the Vietnam Administration of Tourism, a more favourable road transport system linking Laos and Cambodia is attributable to the success.
In addition, Vietnam is now strengthening the caravan tourism. Not only welcoming international carnivals, the sector is exploiting tours to countries sharing border such as Laos and Cambodia.
CITE awarded best travel agency
The Centre of Incentive, Tours and Events (CITE), of Ben Thanh Tourist has recently been awarded the Best Travel Agency Indochina 2008 by the Travel Weekly Asia magazine.
CITE is one of the 15 travel agencies in Asia elected, including China Travel Service (China), American Express Business Travel India (India), JTB Corporation (Japan)...
According to CITE director Le Hoang Yen, the company receives around 500-600 tourists per month, most of them are MICE guests (Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition).
